Archival description
Describe what a record is, who created it and the context needed to interpret it.
Descriptions should be factual, proportionate and distinguish the record’s own terminology from modern terminology where that matters. Historical names can be retained for discovery while notes explain later institutional change.
Do not silently relabel an HRC moderation or community-management record as a government, police, judicial or regulatory record merely because a current UH body now performs a superficially similar function.
