Privacy

How The National Archives handles researcher, transfer and archival information.

Research enquiries and transfer cases can contain personal, sensitive and operational information. Access to internal casework is limited to authorised archival, sensitivity and technical review.

Published catalogue descriptions are separate public records. The public description should not reveal information that the access decision requires to remain closed.
